Background
The Washington State Board of Health (WSBOH) will be voting April 13th on whether they will require the COVID-19 inoculations for all students to attend school and day care. Yes, this includes the 3-5 year-old children too, for which an emergency use authorization (EUA) has not been approved. Moderna has asked the FDA to approve their gene therapy product for this age group.
Why Should I Get Involved?
The technical advisory group (TAG) voted 7 to 6 NOT to require the COVID-19 inoculations for children, with 4 unsure votes. The TAG advises the WSBOH but the board does NOT have to abide by their recommendation. This means that they can override the TAG advice and require the injections anyway.
What Can I Do To Help?
Informed Choice Washington has put together wonderful resources for public comment and an excellent video that explains how to get involved. The deadline for public comment is April 8th. Please consider signing the petition to prevent school mandates for children.
In addition, please get involved in commenting to the FDA about these injections for children. Dr. Toby Rogers has written an excellent post about this with clear talking points and links.
